B-24, "Extra Joker" 
was shot down by enemy fighters while on a bombing mission over  Markerslorf
 Airdrome near  Vienna, Austria. Approximately six seconds elapsed between the snapping of the first photo and last photo. "Extra Joker" exploded seconds later. 
There were no survivors.


 A hole in trailing edge of wing and beginning of a fire can be seen at the left wing root.  

 


 Heat buckling skin near left wing root. Fire can be seen erupting from small window & bottom of fuselage.

 


 Fire has engulfed the fuselage and underside of left wing.
